The Hairy Bikers Food Tour of Great Britain
We had a visit from the fantastic Hairy Bikers - Si and Dave! After filming in January the show was aired at the beginning of September, the fourth episode of the series. The show has given credit to the wonderful food which can be found right on our doorstep. The big cheese, Carole, suggested using Cheshire cheese for a soup and the Hairy Bikers made. We recommend a mixture of Joseph Helers Blue and Bournes Unpasteurised Cheshire. The Bikers also made deep friend Federia sandwiches. The recipes can be found here.
New Products!
We have gained a few new suppliers which we agree that our customers will enjoy. Dittys Bakery is in Northern Ireland and they make some fantastic crunchy oat cakes which are perfect with a cheese such as Gubeen or their own.
We now stock a range from The Fine Cheese Company, Bath including their small pots of quince jelly and damson fruit for cheese puree. The damson is perfect with Cenarth Organic Brie, it adds just a little sweetness to the creamy brie. They make lovely presents in a gift basket or on cheese board. Also in stock are the olive oil and sea salt crackers, fig crackers and rosemary crackers.
There is a return of the Kitchen Gardens range of chutneys from Stroud, in the South West. We have their plum chutney, real ale chutney, and their cranberry chutney. All ready for the winter and perfect around Christmas time.
Patchword Pates have introduced a new smaller range of pates. These are frozen so that they last for longer and are perfect for a couple or if you would prefer to try a smaller amount of a few different flavours. We have in stock chicken liver pates with Cointreau & orange; mushroom & garlic; brandy & herb; and Tequila & cranberry.
