The international cheese awards in Nantwich 2014

This years show was the biggest to date with just under 4500 entries of cheese from all around the world. With around 180 judges including Carole, Ann and Tom; there was plenty of cheese to taste!

Colston Basset won The Supreme Champion for their beautiful Stilton cheese which is always stocked in the Cheese Shop and is always a favourite.

Claire Burt from Knutsford won a Silver for her Drunken Burt. A creamy cows milk cheese rind washed in cider from Hereford. It makes for a creamy rich cheese, which is particularly popular.

New Chutneys in the Cheese Shop

We now have a lovely new range of chutneys all handmade in Lancashire.
Reedies take the best Lancashire ingredients whenever available and turn them into some of the finest produce Lancashire has to offer. All our products are additive free, hand prepared, hand made in small batches and cooked in open pans to maintain a naturally exceptional taste. We don't use artificial ingredients of any sort and are one of the few producers who set their preserves by using freshly squeezed lemon juice and their own pectin made from fresh apples.
Please come into the shop for a sample and to take some of the lovely chutneys home.

Steph and Tom go cheese making

Chorlton Cheshire Cheese made in Malpas is a traditional Cheshire Cheese. It is a cows milk cheese that is moist and crumbly with a touch of salt and a fresh aftertaste. An artisan cheese that is well worth a try.

Steph and Tom had an enjoyable but hard day cheesemaking with Guy at Chorlton Hall Farm. The cheese is all handmade with no machines so done the traditional way, and made with milk from just around the corner, as fresh as it comes!
